Why Can't i know when i fall asleep until I wake up?

🤔  Have you ever experienced the feeling of "losing track of time"🕑 while watching a movie, playing a video game, or doing something else you enjoy? Falling asleep is kind of like that, but instead of losing track of time, you lose track of what's happening around you. When we fall asleep, our brain activity changes and we start to dream. This means that our brain is "offline" and not aware of what's going on in the outside world. So, even though we might be sleeping for several hours, we don't have any memory of it because our brain wasn't keeping track of what was happening. When we wake up, our brain starts to become aware of the outside world again and we start to remember what happened while we were asleep. This is why we only realize that we were asleep once we wake up - our brain was too busy dreaming to keep track of time or what was happening in the real world.
